Bizarre & Beautiful: A Sustainable Art Deco Revival

This project was created for my Web Design course, where I was challenged to design a website and develop a brand centered around a current trend, while incorporating sustainability.

For my concept, I chose the world of vintage and estate jewelry, drawing from the Art Deco movement—but I intentionally avoided the typical “Roaring Twenties” motifs often associated with the era. Instead, I took inspiration from Clarice Cliff, a British ceramic artist known for her daring use of color, geometry, and abstraction. Her Bizarre Ware collection inspired me to reimagine the Art Deco aesthetic through a more playful, modern, and graphic lens.

Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I created digital prints and motifs inspired by Cliff’s pottery and integrated them into my brand’s visual identity. The resulting website, Bizarre & Beautiful, presents a fictional vintage estate jewelry brand celebrating sustainable luxury specializing in reworked and repurposed Art Deco pieces.

The site combines storytelling, color forecasting, and digital design to showcase a brand that values individuality, craftsmanship, and renewal. Through bold visuals and a strong sense of heritage, Bizarre & Beautiful bridges the past and present—proving that timeless design can inspire a more conscious, creative future.
